For many of us, it can be hard to see how far others had to go in order for us to get where we are today. Literally and figuratively, generations of people have triumphed and toiled through adversity time and time again throughout history, and that collective work, in one way or another, has made way for you. Therefore, our lives can be viewed as “torches” that have been carried to this point not to remain here, but to be taken further.
